Analysis and solution of the use of traffic areas of border crossings
Hladůvková, Blanka ; Chaker, Manar (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
The Diploma Thesis is composed of two parts: text-based and project-based. Text-based part deals with universal use of border crossings. Most of the border crossings is in private ownership, therefore it is not known how it will be used in the future. Deputies of villages, districts and local authorities were approached because some of the border crossings lie within their competence. The intention of the private owners was discovered. The project-part deals with particular border crosing between the Czech Republic and the Slovakia Republic – Starý Hrozenkov. Zlín district is interested in reconstructing of the mentioned border crossing. A project dealing with the future purpose of the rest area, such as building a gass station, a restaurant, a relaxation zone and a space for checking vehicles, was suggested within the technical study.
Development of regional differentiation of premature mortality in Czechia in the period 1996-2019
Korytarová, Eliška ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Ukolova, Elizaveta (referee)
Development of regional differentiation of premature mortality in Czechia in the period 1996-2019 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyze the premature mortality trends at the national and district levels in the Czech Republic from 1996 to 2019. The analytical tool used is the indicator of Potential Years of Life Lost (PYLL). The results of the analysis confirmed that the level of premature mortality is higher among males. During the study period, there was a significant reduction in premature mortality at both the national and district levels for both males and females. The decline was more pronounced among males. The most common causes of premature death were circulatory system diseases and neoplasms. Between 1996 and 2019, the most significant reduction in premature mortality occurred in diseases of the circulatory system. There was also a substantial decrease in causes of death typical for the infant age group. Regional disparities increased during the study period, and the disparities in premature mortality between districts were more significant among females. Keywords: premature mortality, years of life lost, causes of death, districts, Czechia
Determinants of Regional Differentiation of Mortality in the Czech Republic
Pachlová, Tereza
Determinants of Regional Differentiation of Mortality in the Czech Republic Abstract There are considerable differences in socioeconomic and sociodemographic factors influencing mortality on the individual and also on the aggregate levels. These differences were observed and explained in many countries of the world. The objective of this thesis is to find and evaluate the most significant external factors which influence actual regional differentiation of mortality in districts of the Czech Republic. The objective was achieved by means of the demographic and statistical analysis methods. First, there was a comparison of mortality rates calculated for each of the socioeconomic clusters. It was found out that higher mortality rates appeared among men and women living in the districts with unfavourable external conditions. Using the Poisson log-linear model, the most important factors influencing differences in mortality rates in districts of the Czech Republic were identified. These factors are: share of the unemployed, share of the divorced, share of university-educated people and the number of physicans in hospitals per 1000 inhabitants. Share of the unemployed seems to be the most significant factor. There is a correlation between this factor and the total mortality rate as well as the leading causes of...

Population development in the districts of Prague between 2001 and 2013
Křenková, Lenka ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Kraus, Jaroslav (referee)
The main goal of this study is to analyse population development in Prague districts in between 2001 and 2013. Within this frame the processes of mortality, fertility, migration and population aging are also examined. As a part of this study, a sample survey on the policies of districts regarding issues with demographic structure was made. The results prove, that life expectancy at birth generally rose in Prague, with differences from district to district. It also rose faster for the population of men. The total fertility rate also grew, as well as the mean age of mothers giving birth. The center of the city lost some of its population from migration, mainly due to migration to the outer districts. Whereas, districts on the outskirts saw an increase in migration. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Regional differentiation of mortality from the most important diseases of the circulatory system in Czechia
Tvrz, Michal ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Maláková, Kateřina (referee)
Regional differentiation of mortality from the most important diseases of the circulatory system in Czechia Abstract The objective of this thesis is to describe and evaluate, for Czechia at both the national and regional level and in the time frame of 1997-2017, the main developmental trends in male and female mortality from the diseases of the circulatory system as a whole and its most important individual diagnoses. The results of the analysis confirmed that the diseases of the circulatory system were the most common cause of death for men and women both at the national and regional levels throughout the period under review. Nevertheless, there was a significant reduction of mortality rates for the diseases in question in both sexes, especially in the case of ischaemic heart diseases, cerebrovascular diseases and atherosclerosis. In contrast, mortality from hypertensive diseases and other forms of heart disease increased in both sexes. Mortality from cardiovascular diseases in districts largely followed the trends from the national level. For the selected causes of death, the patterns of the regional distribution of the values of the standardized mortality rates were (during the observed years) largely similar for both sexes. Overall, mortality rate for the group of cardiovascular diseases decreased in...
The Impact of Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund on Convergence: The Case of Slovak Districts
Kotrč, Michal ; Šťastná, Lenka (advisor) ; Cahlík, Tomáš (referee)
Do Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund contribute to the improvement of economic performance across Slovak districts? In order to answer the question this thesis explores the impact of EU funds invested within specific operational programmes over the programming periods 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 on the decrease in unemployment rate and on the increase in real wage and employment rate. Besides the standard panel data regression technique we also apply a spatial autoregressive model due to the presence of spillover effects between regions. This thesis thus goes beyond the existing literature on the evaluation of the impact of EU funds in Slovakia as it incorporates spatial effects in the analysis. In comparison with the results of the baseline fixed effects model, the estimated impact of EU funds in the spatial autoregressive model is smaller and in certain cases even negative. Hence the results raise doubts about the efficiency of EU funds. Furthermore, after including the spatial effects we find that the existence and significance of the economic convergence across Slovakia depends not only on the chosen economic indicator but also on the specification of regional units.
Problems of the current territorial division of the Czech Republic
Práce poskytuje přehled správních obvodů ve formě obcí, vojenských újezdů, okresů, krajů a zvláštního postavení hlavního města Prahy. Je poukázáno na kolizi správních a samosprávných krajů a rovněž je zdůrazněn...
